Former Andhra Pradesh High Court Justice V Iswaraiah has alleged that some relatives of a senior Supreme Court judge were involved in the benami transaction of the Amravati land scam. He filed an affidavit in the Supreme Court and said that he is collecting this case and evidence.
On Monday before the bench of Justice Ashok Bhushan, former Justice Ishwariah told the apex court that he had sought information from a sacked judicial officer about the conversation on the benami transaction. The former justice has challenged the judgment of the Andhra Pradesh High Court, which came on August 13 last year in the Supreme Court, ordering a probe into the conversation between him and the dismissed judicial officer.
He said in the affidavit that the information he was seeking was related to the conduct of a sitting judge and its reference is directly related to the investigation and cannot be considered a conspiracy in any case. The court had directed Justice Ishwariah to present his case in the matter, after which he filed the affidavit on January 11. The court will now hear the case in the first week of February.
