UN Report Warns of Potential Decline of Over 40% in Output
New Delhi: A recent report by the United Nations’ Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) has identified heatwaves as a significant threat to India’s agricultural workforce and rice production. The report highlights that farming regions located around the Ganga and Indus river basins are expected to face the highest risk. As a result, rice output in these areas could decline by more than 40 percent.
