- After getting up in the morning and taking a bath on this day, wear clean clothes.
- Offer water to the Peepal tree, by doing this you get freedom from Shani Dev’s Sadesati and Dhaiya
- On Saturday, do 7 rounds of the Peepal tree
- On this day, present black sesame seeds, flowers, incense, black cloth, and oil to Shani Dev in the evening.
- On this day, bathe the iron idol of Shani Dev with Panchamrit.
- After this, recite the Shani mantra ‘Om Sham Shanaishcharaya Namah’ 108 times.
- Along with chanting the mantras, do the recitation of Shani Chalisa and Aarti as well
- On this day, offer blue flowers, black urad, sesame, jaggery and black clothes to Shani Dev
- Apart from this, offering Khichdi to Shani Dev is also considered auspicious on this day
- After the puja, feed a needy person and give Dakshina
- Turning your back to Shani Dev’s idol during the puja is considered disrespectful.
