New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has announced its second list of 21 candidates for the upcoming Kerala Assembly elections. The party has fielded Samin Satyadas from Thiruvananthapuram and Moses Henry Motha from Ernakulam. Earlier on Thursday, AAP had released its first list comprising 22 candidates. Both the Indian National Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party have also already announced their initial lists of candidates for Kerala.
Meanwhile, the All India Trinamool Congress (TMC) has declared candidates for 291 out of the total 294 seats in the West Bengal Assembly elections, leaving three seats for its ally BGPM. Party chief Mamata Banerjee has dropped 74 sitting MLAs (approximately one-third) and changed the constituencies of 15 legislators. Mamata Banerjee will contest from Bhabanipur, where she is set to face BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari. In the previous 2021 Assembly elections, Suvendu Adhikari had defeated Mamata Banerjee from the Nandigram seat.
In South 24 Parganas, protests erupted after sitting MLA Shaukat Molla was denied a ticket from the Canning Purba constituency. His supporters staged demonstrations, with TMC workers burning tyres on the streets and raising slogans.
