Mumbai: Former Indian cricket team captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni expressed his appreciation for head coach Gautam Gambhir following India’s victory in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. After the triumph, Dhoni congratulated Gambhir and conveyed his gratitude for the team’s achievement.
During the final match, Dhoni was seated in the VVIP box alongside former captain Rohit Sharma and Jay Shah, the chairman of the International Cricket Council. He later shared a post on Instagram expressing his happiness over the team’s success.
In his message, Dhoni wrote, “Coach, your smile looks wonderful. Your victory, along with that smile, is remarkable. You have done a fantastic job.”
Notably, Gambhir has long been known for his strict coaching style and a serious demeanor, often living up to his name by appearing reserved and intense. In the past, it was also widely believed that his relationship with Dhoni had not been particularly cordial.
