Ahmedabad: Aggressive Indian opening batter Abhishek Sharma played a brilliant half-century in the match against the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, playing a crucial role in India’s victory. His performances leading up to the semi-finals of the tournament had not been particularly impressive. As a result, there was considerable pressure on him to deliver a big innings in the final — a challenge he successfully met.
Interestingly, the bat Abhishek used for this aggressive knock was not originally his own. It had been borrowed from fellow Indian cricketer Shivam Dube, and it turned out to be lucky for him.
Abhishek decided to change his bat on the morning of the match. According to a report, after the final victory he said, “Today I batted with Shivam Dube’s bat, so I would like to thank him. In the morning, I felt like trying something different, and that’s what I did.”
