Amid Geneva Talks U.S. Deploys Over 50 Fighter Jets Toward Iran

International

Geneva: Just as hopes were beginning to rise for a reduction in tensions through diplomatic engagement between the United States and Iran, a fresh military move by Washington has once again fueled concerns of potential conflict in the region. While both countries remain engaged in discussions at the negotiating table over nuclear issues and economic sanctions, the United States has, within the past 24 hours, deployed more than 50 advanced fighter jets near Iran’s borders.

According to military analysts and independent flight-tracking data, the deployment includes some of the world’s most formidable combat aircraft, such as the F-22 Raptor, the F-35 Lightning II, and the F-16 Fighting Falcon. The presence of aerial refueling tankers accompanying these jets suggests that the U.S. Air Force may be preparing for a significant long-range operation.
