Quad Summit in India Could Not Be Held Due to Trump’s Policies

New York — Democratic U.S. Congresswoman Sydney Kamlager-Dove has strongly criticized former President Donald Trump over the tariffs imposed on India. She stated that the decision to levy a 50 percent tariff significantly undermined the trust that had been carefully built between the two nations over several years. According to her, the move was unwarranted and created strain in bilateral relations.

Kamlager-Dove further alleged that the Trump administration took more than a year to advance a trade agreement with India. As a result, the Quad Summit scheduled to be held in New Delhi in 2025 could not take place. The Quadrilateral Security Dialogue (Quad) comprises India, the United States, Japan, and Australia.
