New York: The latest report by the United Nations Security Council’s (UNSC) 1267 Sanctions Monitoring Committee has delivered a significant blow to Pakistan’s counterterrorism claims on the global stage. The report officially records that the Pakistan-based terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammed was involved in the deadly terrorist attack on Delhi’s historic Red Fort.
For India, this development is being viewed as a major diplomatic achievement, as Pakistan has for years maintained before the international community that terrorist groups operating from its territory have either been dismantled or rendered inactive.
