Status of Syed Modi Tournament Downgraded; Two Super 100 Events Removed

Kuala Lumpur: In a significant development, the Badminton World Federation (BWF) has delivered a setback to Indian badminton by downgrading the status of the Syed Modi International tournament. However, the India Open has retained its existing classification and will continue to be held at the same level as before.

In addition, the number of BWF-sanctioned tournaments hosted in India has been reduced from four to two, further impacting the country’s presence on the international badminton calendar.
