Colombo. England’s white-ball team captain Harry Brook has finally acknowledged that he did not tell the truth initially about a nightclub incident that took place in Wellington last year. Brook admitted that he deliberately gave a false statement to shield his teammates who were present at the club that night from potential trouble. The incident occurred on October 31, a day before the final ODI match against New Zealand. At the time, Brook had claimed that he was alone during an argument with a bouncer. However, following recent reports and after England’s T20 victory over Sri Lanka, he revealed that several other players were also with him that night.
