The issue stems from his IPL franchise, Kolkata Knight Riders, signing Bangladeshi cricketer Mustafizur Rahman. Amid reports of atrocities against minorities in Bangladesh, the decision has drawn sharp criticism from political leaders, religious figures, and other sections of society, who have targeted Shah Rukh Khan over the move. Some have even gone so far as to label him anti-national, while others have stepped forward to defend him and support the decision.
