Delhi: The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) hosted its inaugural Shipbuilding, Indigenisation, and IT Conference in Madikeri, Karnataka, on Thursday, underscoring a strategic push to bolster India’s maritime capabilities in alignment with Atmanirbhar Bharat and digital transformation visions.Major shipyards, equipment manufacturers, classification societies, and maritime ecosystem experts converged at the event, fostering collaboration and innovation.

In his opening address, ICG Director General Paramesh Shivamani emphasized the need for indigenous innovation, robust digital infrastructure, and resilient supply chains to achieve self-reliance in shipbuilding.
