India’s Aviation Ascends: PM Modi Launches Safran’s Landmark Engine MRO Hub in Hyderabad

New Delhi/Hyderabad: In a significant boost to India’s aviation infrastructure and self-reliance goals, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday inaugurated Safran’s state-of-the-art aircraft engine Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facility in Hyderabad.

Addressing the launch from New Delhi via video conference, the Prime Minister declared that the new facility heralds a new era for the Indian aviation sector, positioning the nation as a formidable global MRO hub.The Safran Aircraft Engine Services India (SAESI) facility, located at the GMR Aerospace and Industrial Park, is the first established in India by a leading global engine Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM).

This milestone development is dedicated to servicing LEAP engines, which power the widely used Airbus A320neo and Boeing 737 MAX aircraft families.

The Prime Minister emphasized that this venture is a symbol of trust in India’s talent and a stepping stone for the youth to build a world-class aviation hub within the country.
