Uttan Mandukasana Holds a Special Place Among Yogic Postures

Lifestyle

New Delhi: In the Indian way of life, yoga is regarded not merely as a form of exercise but as an art of living a healthy and balanced life. According to health experts, yoga not only strengthens the body but also enhances mental balance and concentration. Among the many beneficial yogic postures, Uttan Mandukasana occupies a distinctive place. This asana is believed to help improve bodily balance, increase muscle flexibility, and strengthen the spine.

The term Uttan Mandukasana is derived from three words: “uttan,” meaning stretched upward, “manduk,” meaning frog, and “asana,” meaning posture. In this pose, the body assumes a form somewhat resembling a frog, with the body being stretched upward to maintain balance. According to the Ministry of AYUSH, regular practice of this asana is beneficial for both physical and mental well-being.
