U.S. Supreme Court Defers Ruling on President Trump’s Authority to Impose Tariffs

Big News

New Delhi: The U.S. Supreme Court has, for the time being, deferred its ruling on President Trump’s authority to impose tariffs. According to media reports, the next hearing in the matter is scheduled for Thursday. Earlier, a decision was expected on January 9, but no ruling was delivered on that day either.

Previously, Trump had stated that if the Supreme Court were to overturn the global tariffs imposed by his administration, the situation could deteriorate significantly for the United States. Such a decision could require the country to refund billions of dollars collected through tariffs.
