Trump’s New Strategic Move Trade Agreement with India to Remain Intact Announcement of Global Tariff

International

Washington: U.S. President Donald Trump has received a significant constitutional setback from the Supreme Court, which ruled that the broad tariffs imposed by his administration were unlawful and subsequently struck them down.

In response to the ruling, President Trump swiftly announced retaliatory measures, declaring the imposition of a new 10 percent global tariff on goods imported from around the world under Section 122. This newly announced tariff may remain in effect for up to 150 days, after which a formal approval from the U.S. Congress will be required to extend its implementation.

During a press conference held at the White House, Trump made it clear that although the court had overturned his earlier policy, the recently concluded trade agreement between the United States and India would remain fully intact. He emphasized that the decision would have no adverse impact on bilateral relations between the two countries.
