New Delhi: Several Members of Parliament retired from the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday. During their farewell, Leader of the Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge stated in the House that leaders never truly retire. They neither tire of public life nor step away from their commitment to serving the nation.
In the course of his address, while referring to former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda, Kharge quipped, “They shared affection with us, but ended up forming an alliance with Mr. Modi—I do not know why that happened,” drawing laughter across the House, with even the Prime Minister seen smiling.
