New Delhi: The Netherlands cricket team has adopted a new approach in the T20 World Cup this year by seeking guidance from a psychologist to better manage high-pressure situations. According to team psychologist Tom Dawson-Squibb, instead of reprimanding players for their mistakes, it is more effective to allow them the freedom to play their natural game without adding unnecessary pressure.
As part of this initiative, short motivational messages written in simple language have been placed inside the players’ jerseys to help boost their confidence during matches. Experienced batsman Colin Ackermann has expressed his support for the approach, stating that the psychologist’s method has proven to be highly beneficial for the team.
