New Delhi – The Election Commission of India is set to take a major step today to strengthen preparations for the upcoming state assembly elections scheduled over the next two to three years. The Commission is ready to announce a Special Intensive Revision (SIR) programme for voter lists across the country.
To share detailed information and dates for this initiative, the Commission has scheduled a press conference for 4:15 PM today.
The primary objective of this drive is to ensure that voter rolls across India are accurate, up-to-date, and reliable, thereby minimizing the chances of any discrepancies or confusion during the forthcoming assembly and other elections.
