Dhaka: Amid months of sustained political uncertainty in Bangladesh, a significant transition has taken place. The tenure of the country’s interim government has come to an end, and on Tuesday, Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) leader Tarique Rahman is set to take the oath of office as Prime Minister.
Just ahead of the formal transfer of power, Muhammad Yunus, who had been heading the interim administration, tendered his resignation. However, in his farewell address, Yunus once again expressed strong criticism of India, reflecting a contentious diplomatic stance that has stirred fresh debate within regional political circles.
