Sensex up by 700 points, Nifty nears 22,800

Mumbai: The Indian stock market opened on a strong note on Tuesday, supported by positive cues from global markets. A favorable trend across Asian markets, along with expectations of easing tensions between the United States and Iran, boosted investor sentiment. As a result, a buying trend was observed in the market.

The BSE Sensex opened with a gain of over 500 points at 74,212.47. The momentum further strengthened soon after the opening bell. In early trade, the Sensex was seen trading around 73,763.86, registering a rise of 1,067.47 points, which reflects a gain of approximately 1.47 percent.
