Riyadh: A significant development has sent shockwaves through Pakistan’s leadership, delivering a major setback to Shahbaz and Munir. Both leaders, who were attempting to strengthen their position by aligning closely with the United States while simultaneously crafting strategies to challenge India, now find themselves facing an unexpected reversal.
According to reports, Pakistan and China had been actively promoting the jointly developed JF-7 Thunder fighter jet for export to Saudi Arabia. Islamabad was optimistic that, following Azerbaijan’s interest, Saudi Arabia might place a substantial order. There was also speculation that Riyadh could potentially acquire these aircraft to extend support to countries such as Sudan.
However, under mounting pressure from the United States, Saudi Arabia has reportedly indicated its reluctance to proceed with the proposed deal. This move is being viewed as a significant diplomatic and strategic setback for Pakistan.
