President Trump personally shared details of this major achievement on the social media platform Truth Social, offering strong praise for Prime Minister Modi. He stated that their close friendship and mutual respect paved the way for both countries to reach a comprehensive trade agreement with immediate effect. The most significant and immediate benefit of this deal has gone to India in the form of a substantial tariff reduction. President Trump announced that US tariffs on India have now been cut to just 18 percent.
