New Delhi: In the 19th edition of the IPL, Mumbai Indians (MI) will begin their campaign against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on March 29. Once again, Rohit Sharma and Quinton de Kock are expected to open the innings for Mumbai.
Commenting on this, former batsman Subramaniam Badrinath stated that the opening partnership of Rohit and de Kock could prove overwhelming for opposition teams in the IPL. De Kock was acquired by Mumbai in the IPL 2026 auction at a base price of ₹1 crore. Having previously represented Mumbai from 2019 to 2021, he played a crucial role in the team’s successes during that period.
Badrinath remarked, “Rohit remains a strong contender for India’s T20 side. His opening partnership with de Kock is highly effective.”
