New Delhi: Former captain of the Indian cricket team, Rohit Sharma, has stated that his primary goal is to lead India to victory in the 2027 One Day International (ODI) World Cup. Under his leadership, the Indian team previously reached the final but fell short of securing the title.
Although India went on to win the 2024 ICC T20 World Cup and the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy during his captaincy, the disappointment of missing out on the 2023 ODI World Cup crown continues to weigh heavily on him. Determined to overcome that setback, Rohit is currently focusing solely on the ODI format and is committed to retiring from the game only after lifting the 2027 World Cup trophy.
