Rajya Sabha Elections: Contest Intensifies for 11 Seats Across Three States; BJP’s Strategy Raises Opposition Concerns

National

New Delhi: In the upcoming elections for 37 seats in the Rajya Sabha, a real contest is now expected on only 11 seats across three states. Voting is likely to take place for five seats in Bihar, four in Odisha, and two in Haryana, while candidates in the remaining states are widely expected to be elected unopposed.

Through calculated political maneuvering, the Bharatiya Janata Party has increased the pressure on opposition parties. Its strategic moves have significantly complicated the situation for the Biju Janata Dal in Odisha and the Indian National Congress in Haryana. Meanwhile, in Bihar, a closely fought contest is anticipated between the National Democratic Alliance and the Rashtriya Janata Dal for one of the seats.
