Sam Altman, CEO of ChatGPT’s parent company OpenAI, has announced a major update to the platform’s policies. Under the new changes, certain users will be granted access to adult content. However, this access will be strictly restricted for underage users.
The company has not yet clarified exactly what kind of permissions or categories will be included under the term “adult content access.” Nonetheless, this marks one of the most significant policy shifts in OpenAI’s history.
In a post, Altman stated that beginning in December, OpenAI will fully implement age-based access rules, allowing adult users to experience services appropriate for their age group. Following this change, verified adults will be given access to content intended for mature audiences.
