Washington: Meta, the parent company of Facebook, has taken a significant leap into the artificial intelligence industry with the launch of its new AI model, “Muse Spark.” This model is a product of Meta’s newly established AI division, into which the company has made substantial investments over the past year.
Initially developed under the internal codename “Avocado,” the model has now been officially released through Meta’s standalone AI application. In the future, it is also expected to be integrated into platforms such as WhatsApp, Instagram, and Meta’s AI-powered smart glasses.
In recent times, Meta’s AI capabilities on WhatsApp and Instagram had lagged behind competing models. With the launch of Muse Spark, the company aims to close this gap and strengthen its position in the competitive AI landscape.
Early reports suggest that Muse Spark demonstrates strong performance in writing and reasoning tasks, placing it close to leading models developed by OpenAI, Google, and Anthropic. However, in terms of coding capabilities, it still trails slightly behind its competitors—a crucial benchmark in today’s AI-driven market.
