March and April: A Sensitive Period for the Body

Lifestyle-2

New Delhi: The months of March and April are considered particularly sensitive for the human body. This period marks a seasonal transition, when winter gradually recedes and the onset of summer begins. In traditional terms, this phase is known as the spring season.

Experts believe that during this time, the accumulated kapha (phlegm-related element) in the body begins to liquefy. As a result, individuals may experience an increase in ailments such as cold and cough, fatigue, digestive disturbances, and a general feeling of heaviness.

Therefore, it becomes essential to make appropriate adjustments to one’s diet and daily routine in order to maintain physical balance. According to Ayurveda, kapha tends to accumulate in the body during the Hemant (early winter) and Shishir (late winter) seasons. With the arrival of spring, this accumulated kapha starts to melt, which explains the heightened vulnerability to illnesses during this time.

However, by adopting a balanced diet and a well-structured daily routine, many of these seasonal health issues can be effectively managed and prevented.
