A female professor had obtained an Indian visa by claiming to be a tourist, but after arriving in India, she secretly engaged in other work. When Indian security agencies got wind of this, they blacklisted the lady from London. Despite her previous intentions, she attempted to enter India again. She even reached Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi, but the Bureau of Immigration denied her entry and deported her back to her country.
According to sources, the case involves Emerita Professor Francesca Orsini from the School of Languages, Cultures, and Linguistics in London, who specializes in Hindi and Urdu literature. Professor Orsini is recognized as an expert in South Asian literature and has long been conducting research on Hindi-Urdu literature and multilingual cultures.
Sources indicate that Professor Orsini had come to India earlier this year on a tourist visa. During that visit, she carried out research activities, which violated the terms of her visa. Following the revelation of this matter, Professor Orsini was blacklisted in March 2025.
