Renowned lyricist and writer Javed Akhtar has expressed his displeasure over the grand welcome extended to the Taliban’s Foreign Minister in India. In strong words, Akhtar described the Taliban as an Islamic organization that inflicts cruelty on women and denies them their rights.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the writer openly voiced his anger at the development. This is not the first time Javed Akhtar has spoken out on political issues — he has often shared his opinions on matters related to politics and society in the past.
Recently, Akhtar also took a jibe at the Censor Board, criticizing what he termed the male-dominated mindset of the film industry. He remarked that even today, most films are still made primarily for men.
