New Delhi. Amid the continuously deteriorating situation and violent protests in Iran, several Indian nationals stranded in the country have returned home safely. Late Friday night, these citizens arrived in Delhi from Iran, with a large number of them being students. Upon their return to India, they praised the efforts of the Government of India and the Indian Embassy for ensuring their safety.
According to media reports, around 10,000 Indian nationals are currently present in Iran, including students, businesspersons, and professionals from various fields. Of these, approximately 2,500 to 3,000 students are pursuing medical studies in the country. As the situation worsened, the Government of India acted proactively to address their safety concerns and had also announced the possibility of an airlift if required.
