New Conditions Emerge in Potential 114-Jet Agreement

Paris: During President Emmanuel Macron’s visit to India, discussions in France have intensified regarding the potential deal for 114 Dassault Rafale fighter aircraft. According to reports in the French media, India will not be granted access to the source code of the Rafale’s core electronic systems or its advanced electronic warfare suite, SPECTRA.

The decision by Rafale manufacturer Dassault Aviation and its key partner Thales Group to withhold the source code would mean that India may continue to rely on France for major technical modifications or the integration of indigenous weapons into the aircraft in the future.

According to Indian defense experts, without access to the source code, Indian engineers would not be able to independently integrate advanced sensors, domestically developed missiles, or other weapon systems. This limitation could potentially affect the country’s operational autonomy.
