New Delhi:
Due to the increasing use of mobile phones, computers, and laptops, along with rising pollution and dust exposure, eye-related problems are growing rapidly today. Issues such as eye irritation, dryness, fatigue, and weakening eyesight are becoming common complaints. In such circumstances, the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, recommends a few simple, natural, and easy practices to help maintain eye health, which can be effortlessly incorporated into daily routine. Among these, Sheetodak Sechan (cold water irrigation) and Paanitala Sparsh (gentle contact of the eyes with water) are considered especially beneficial.
According to the Ministry of AYUSH, Sheetodak Sechan, which involves instilling a few drops of cold water into the eyes, is highly beneficial for eye health. Performing this practice three to four times a day helps reduce eye strain and strengthens vision. Cold water soothes the heat accumulated in the eyes, providing relief from problems such as irritation, dryness, and redness, while promoting overall eye comfort and freshness.
