A new report has left Yunus under scrutiny: 116 minorities killed in Bangladesh within seven months
Dhaka: Since the change of power in Bangladesh and the departure of Sheikh Hasina from the country, violence against minority communities—particularly Hindus—has shown no signs of abating. Serious concerns have emerged regarding the safety of minorities during the tenure of the interim government led by Muhammad Yunus. According to a recent human rights report, the period between June 2025 and January 2026 witnessed extreme levels of persecution against Hindus and other minority groups across various parts of Bangladesh. In just seven months, as many as 116 minorities were killed.
