In the Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation, Shinde has joined hands with Raj Thackeray’s Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS).
Mumbai: Tensions have been evident in Maharashtra between Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. On several occasions, Shinde has appeared dissatisfied, but he has now taken a step that has left both the BJP and Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena stunned. His move signals the emergence of new political equations in the state.
By aligning with Raj Thackeray’s MNS in the Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation, the BJP has been left isolated, despite having contested elections in alliance with Shinde’s party earlier. Additionally, Raj Thackeray has withdrawn support from the Uddhav-led Shiv Sena and extended backing to Eknath Shinde’s faction.
