Congress Marginalized Amid Factionalism, Distrust, and Poor Coordination with Allies

Big News Child

New Delhi: The resignation of former Assam Congress president Bhupen Kumar Borah has raised fresh concerns about the party’s steadily declining political standing and the role of its central leadership. Borah switched to the Bharatiya Janata Party just ahead of the elections, a move that has intensified perceptions of organizational weakness and internal discord within the party.

Political analysts suggest that in several states, Congress units are being pushed to the margins due to persistent factional infighting, mutual distrust, and inadequate coordination with allied parties. Critics argue that the party’s continued erosion is further compounded by what they describe as a sluggish decision-making process at the top and an inability to intervene decisively at critical moments.
