New Delhi: Amid the ongoing intense conflict between Iran and the United States in the West Asia region, the issue of the Chabahar Port has resurfaced in India. This time, the matter has not been highlighted by the government directly, but through a report presented in Parliament on Tuesday by the Parliamentary Standing Committee of the Ministry of External Affairs.
The report states that recent developments have put the port development project at risk. Chabahar holds significant strategic importance for India. The ongoing conflict, along with previous measures by the United States—such as restrictions on construction activities and the imposition of tariffs—has had a considerable impact on the progress of the project.
