India–Canada Ties Reset After Talks Between NSA Doval and Drouin
Ottawa: For a long time, Canada has been viewed as a safe refuge for Khalistani extremists. That situation is now set to change, with the doors effectively closing for these anti-India elements. India’s National Security Advisor Ajit Doval held two days of intensive discussions with his Canadian counterpart, Nathalie Drouin, engaging in what has been described as a form of “surgical diplomacy” to reset India–Canada relations.
As a result, Canadian soil will no longer serve as a safe haven for Khalistani networks. The Canadian government will now treat Khalistani activities not as an issue of free speech, but as organized crime. Moreover, any anti-India actions carried out by Khalistani elements in Canada will be closely monitored, and relevant information will be promptly shared with the Indian government.
