Ottawa – Amid ongoing diplomatic tensions with India, Canada’s federal government has issued a significant and far-reaching statement, setting aside its earlier concerns. A senior Canadian official clarified on Wednesday that the government now believes there is no connection between India and the violent crimes occurring within Canada.
This statement comes just ahead of Prime Minister Mark Carney’s highly anticipated visit to India, which is being widely interpreted as a sign of a potential thaw in bilateral relations between the two countries. In recent days, Canadian officials have also acknowledged and appreciated the progress made in security dialogue and mutual cooperation between India and Canada.
