Lucknow: The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has secured a massive victory in the Bihar Assembly elections. This win is the result of tireless efforts by numerous BJP leaders across the country. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also held an impressive 31 high-impact rallies in the state. The election results have made it clear that Yogi Adityanath emerged as one of the most influential figures in this election. In contrast, the performance of Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav and other opposition leaders from Uttar Pradesh remained largely disappointing.
During the campaign, CM Yogi launched sharp attacks on the opposition. Without naming them directly, he referred to Rahul Gandhi, Akhilesh Yadav, and Tejashwi Yadav as “Pappu, Tappu, and Appu,” drawing a comparison with Mahatma Gandhi’s three monkeys. This remark quickly turned into one of the election’s most controversial issues and had a noticeable impact on the Mahagathbandhan’s campaign strategy.
The opposition became entangled in this controversy and lost focus on its core agenda, such as employment, welfare schemes, and the shortcomings of the Nitish Kumar government. Political analysts believe that Yogi effectively diverted the opposition from key issues by steering the campaign toward personal and emotional attacks, ultimately shaping the electoral landscape in his favor.
Experts suggest that this strategy could also be deployed in the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections. As in Bihar, there is a strong possibility of an alliance between the Samajwadi Party and the Congress in Uttar Pradesh as well. If the BJP continues with an equally assertive and aggressive campaign, it may once again push the opposition into a defensive position.
