Delhi: The upcoming Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026 mega auction is set to witness an intense demand for Australian players, featuring current and former national captains Alyssa Healy and Meg Lanning among the 23 Australians participating. This marks the first mega auction since the league’s inaugural season in 2023, promising significant roster reshuffles.

Notable absentees this season include legends Megan Schutt, Sophie Molineux, and Tahlia McGrath, while pace bowler Darcy Brown makes her auction debut. Reserve prices for Australians range from ₹50 lakh for top players like Healy, Lanning, Phoebe Litchfield, Kim Garth, Georgia Wareham, and Heather Graham, down to ₹10 lakh for several emerging talents.

All five WPL franchises face considerable changes as they are permitted to retain a maximum of five players only, with constraints on retaining a maximum of two overseas players and mandating the retention of one uncapped Indian player, complicating core team continuity.
