Apple Trims Sales Division in Rare Layoff, Citing Restructuring for Customer Engagement

Business

CUPERTINO: In a rare move for the tech giant, Apple has initiated a series of job cuts across its sales division, impacting dozens of employees as part of a broader effort to streamline its customer engagement strategies. The layoffs, which were communicated to affected staff over the past several weeks, have targeted roles focused on business, education, and government clients.

While Apple has not disclosed the total number of positions eliminated, the cuts have affected various teams, including account managers who serve major corporate, educational, and government accounts.

Staff who operate Apple’s briefing centers, which are used for institutional meetings and product demonstrations for prospective major customers, were also among those impacted. One of the hardest-hit teams was reportedly the government sales team, which works with agencies such as the US Department of Defense and the Department of Justice.
