Tehran. As tensions between the United States and Iran continue to escalate in the Middle East, a significant strategic signal has emerged from Tehran. On one hand, the Iranian military is conducting live-fire drills in the Strait of Hormuz and preparing for large-scale military exercises scheduled for mid-February. On the other, Iran’s senior security official, Ali Larijani, has made a notable statement regarding the possibility of dialogue with the United States.
According to Larijani, a structured framework for talks with Washington is currently being developed, and the process is progressing gradually. At the international level, this statement is being viewed as a serious attempt to reduce tensions. However, Iran has also made its position clear, emphasizing that it will not enter into any agreement under external pressure or threats. Tehran’s approach appears to be based on a dual strategy—simultaneously pursuing diplomatic engagement while maintaining military preparedness.
