Delhi: A series of bomb threats targeting four district courts and two Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) schools sent a wave of alarm across Delhi on Tuesday, prompting widespread evacuations and a temporary suspension of judicial proceedings.
A senior police official confirmed that an unidentified individual telephoned the police control room Tuesday morning, claiming bombs had been planted at CRPF-run schools in Prashant Vihar and Dwarka. As a precautionary measure, both school campuses were immediately cleared.
Simultaneously, email threats were received concerning the Patiala House, Saket, Rohini, and Dwarka court complexes. In response, all work at the courts was temporarily suspended while authorities initiated comprehensive security sweeps.
Multiple agencies, including local police, bomb disposal squads, dog squads, disaster management teams, and the fire department, were mobilized following the threats, which were first reported around 9:00 AM. After hours of intensive investigation across all locations, officials confirmed that no suspicious items were found.
The police official noted that the caller’s phone was switched off immediately after the threat was made, and technical surveillance has been launched to trace the individual.
