New Delhi: The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has set an ambitious goal to launch seven missions by the end of March 2026, including the first uncrewed mission under the Gaganyaan program.

Sharing the details, ISRO Chairman V. Narayanan stated that before launching the human spaceflight mission, the agency plans to conduct three uncrewed test missions as part of Gaganyaan. The first uncrewed flight — the G1 Mission — is expected to take place by March 2026.

“Our Gaganyaan program is progressing well and has entered the advanced stage,” Narayanan said. “All related equipment has reached Sriharikota and is currently being assembled. We have planned three uncrewed missions, and the first one, G1, will be completed before the end of the current financial year.”

Discussing ISRO’s upcoming plans, Narayanan added that the organisation has scheduled seven launches before the end of March 2026. He also serves as the Secretary of the Department of Space. “This initiative aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for ISRO to launch 50 rockets over the next five years,” he said. “We aim to complete seven launches by the end of this fiscal year, which concludes in March 2026.”

After the LVM3-M05 launch on Sunday, the agency plans another LVM3 mission to place a commercial communication satellite into orbit for a client. Following that, ISRO will carry out three additional PSLV missions, one of which will deploy a satellite for a client of NewSpace India Limited (NSIL) — ISRO’s commercial arm.
