New Delhi: Former Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly has addressed concerns regarding the delay in his proposed steel plant, stating that large-scale industrial projects naturally require considerable time to complete. He explained that such developments must go through several mandatory procedures, including land acquisition, environmental clearances, pollution control approvals, and other regulatory permissions. Therefore, assessing the project’s progress solely based on timelines would not provide an accurate picture.
Ganguly added that the steel plant is being developed in the Jhargram region, where construction work is moving forward steadily. He expressed confidence that the project will be completed within the next year. According to him, the investment is expected to strengthen industrial growth, create employment opportunities, and contribute significantly to the region’s economic development.
