Motive of new rule
New Delhi . Information Technology Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad has responded to allegations of privacy violations by WhatsApp on the new rules. He has expressed his opinion by posting on the native social media app Kook. Ravi Shankar Prasad said, the government fully respects the right to privacy. There is no need for the general users of WhatsApp to be disturbed by the new rules. The purpose of these rules is that who started a particular message giving rise to any violence. According to the new rules, social media companies will have to open offices in India, in which a nodal officer will be posted and they can work to address the concerns of the government and the people.
Prasad said, the purpose of the new rules is that who was the first person to spread any hate-provoking, inflammatory and violent message. These rules are so that India’s sovereignty, integrity, unity and security can be maintained. ‘ The IT minister said that the purpose of the new rules is only to prevent misuse of social media. The government accepts criticism under the right to ask questions. The new rules will strengthen the rights of common users of social media, who are often victimized by the victims of nuisance elements. Explain that the high court was opposing the new rules implemented by the Government of India on behalf of WhatsApp. WhatsApp says that the new rules will put an end to privacy. The social media company says that all messages are encrypted during chat on WhatsApp and disclosing them would be a violation of privacy.
Responding to WhatsApp’s stance, the Center had said that the government respects the right to privacy and the new rules do not violate them in any way. Not only this, the government was of the opinion that if there is a matter of sharing data with Facebook in its privacy rules from WhatsApp, then what is the problem in sharing the necessary information from the government under the rules.
