New Delhi: The habit of continuously staring at computer, laptop, and mobile phone screens can lead to serious problems for our eyes. Initially, these issues may appear as mild fatigue or irritation, but over time, they can develop into more significant conditions.
According to experts, when we work on screens for extended periods, our blinking rate decreases considerably. Normally, a person blinks around 15 to 20 times per minute, but due to constant focus on screens, this rate drops to approximately 5 times per minute. This directly affects the natural moisture of the eyes, leading to increased dryness, irritation, and itching.
Additionally, poor lighting, excessive screen brightness, and a dusty environment place extra strain on the eyes, increasing the risk of conditions such as conjunctivitis and corneal disorders.
